We planned to take a mini vacay to Denver for a few days to spend some time together before Alonzo started his new position in Texas. After numerous trips back and forth to Texas to look for another investment property (one that we would live in for the next year) we just didn’t have it in us.
It wasn’t too hard to decide to take a breather from the PCS process to head to our favorite spot in NC, Raleigh!
Theres no surprise that we stayed at the best hotel in the city, Aloft Hotel. Aloft has always been our go to in Raleigh. It’s conveniently located across the street from NC State, it’s a short uber to downtown Raleigh, Glenwood Avenue (area for nightlife), and it’s a great walkable area for us and the pups! Scout has been going to Aloft since he was about 6 months old. It’s so comfortable for us and the dogs. The staff just loves him and Sophie (yes even Sophie) and they are so incredibly accommodating!
I love the aesthics at Aloft! It's colorful and fun but it's done in a tasteful way!
I think Sophie and Scout love the photo ops, too!
Once we got settled we grabbed a drink at WXYZ Lounge and shot some pool while we waited for my friends to arrive.
I was so happy my two girls Shannon (left) and Ashley (right) came to see us in Raleigh! We had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Beasley's Chicken & Honey!
Once we returned from dinner we took the pups on a walk. I thought the hotel looked so cool from the street! I just love the WXYZ Lounge. It has great views and is so relaxing during the day or night!
Sunday morning we typically walk to “the Flying Biscuit" a breakfast spot we love in Raleigh. This time decided to see what the hype was about at “Jubala Coffee." This swanky cool coffee shop is located right underneath Aloft. I loved their breakfast sandwich! The handmade biscuit was so yummy! This paired with a relaxing and cool setting made for a great start to our day!
What a nice relaxing weekend we had in Raleigh! If you have pets or just want to stay at a great, safe, and centrally located hotel check out Aloft Raleigh!
Until Next Time!
